Booked & Beautiful is operated by Alexandre Escudeiro, a sole trader registered in Portugal. When you use the service or buy Premium, you are contracting with us on these terms.

By creating an account or continuing to use the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the service. You must be of legal age to enter into a contract in your country, and if you use the service on behalf of an organisation you confirm you have authority to bind it.

Booked & Beautiful lets you log books, track reading progress, keep a private reading journal, build shelves, and generate reading statistics and wrap-ups. Some features are reserved for Premium subscribers.

You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

You must not:

• use the service for anything unlawful, fraudulent or abusive, including spam;
• upload content that infringes someone else's intellectual property or privacy;
• interfere with the security or integrity of the service — no malware, probing, penetration testing, automated scraping or circumventing technical limits;
• reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the service.

Your books, notes, ratings, journal entries and uploaded covers remain yours. You grant us a limited licence to host and process that content solely to provide the service to you. We do not publish it, sell it, or use it to train models. You can export your library to CSV at any time.

You are responsible for having the rights to any cover image or text you upload.

The service, its software, design, branding and documentation remain our property. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within the plan you have selected.

Premium is available as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown on the pricing page and include applicable taxes as calculated at checkout.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account page and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. If a renewal payment fails, access may be limited while the payment is retried.

Payment, billing, tax, invoicing, cancellation and refund mechanics are handled by Paddle under the Paddle Checkout Buyer Terms. Our own refund commitment (30 days) is set out in our refund policy.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

We work hard to keep the service running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, data or goodwill. Nothing excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not allow it.

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated policy violations. You can delete your account at any time. On termination, your data may be deleted after a short retention window — export your library first if you want to keep it.

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect.

These terms are governed by Portuguese law, and the courts of Portugal have jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Complaints can be raised at support@bookedbeautiful.com or through the routes listed in our legal notice.
