Reading log template: track every book you finish
A reading log is the simplest way to remember what you read. Whether you prefer paper or a screen, the same few fields turn a pile of finished books into a useful reading history.
What is a reading log?
A reading log is a personal record of the books you read. At minimum it lists the title and author. A good log also captures when you started, when you finished, how you rated the book, and a short note. Over a year, those small entries become a clear picture of your reading life.

If you want to start on paper, use these columns in a notebook or spreadsheet:

How to move from paper to digital
Start with the books you finished most recently. Enter title, author, finish date, and rating. Once the habit sticks, go back and fill in older reads. Within a month you will have a complete, searchable reading history that paper could never give you.
